Our business is based on trust. For us as an insurance, the protection of personal data is a very important concern. We therefore comply with all applicable data protection laws and other standards. In addition, we strive to constantly improve data privacy.
On this website we have put together a series of information about data privacy:
1.1 Legal Regulations
The processing of your personal data by AXA takes place on a legal basis and - if necessary - on the basis of your consent. The most important legal basis since 25.05.2018 is the so-called EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR). Of course, we also observe all other relevant legal requirements, in particular those of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Insurance Contract Act (VVG).
1.2 Beyond the legal standard: Certified Code of Conduct and Binding Corporate Rules
Since the protection of your data is very important to us, we go beyond the legal standards. With effect from 01.01.2014, AXA Konzern AG has acceded to the "Code of Conduct for the Handling of Personal Data by the German Insurance Industry".
Thereby, AXA pledged to additional binding codes of conduct, which have been agreed with the data protection supervisory authorities of the German federal states and by the German Insurance Association e.V., headquartered in Berlin (GDV), and which have been certified by the State Data Protection Inspectorate in Berlin.
This reduces the processing of personal data by our insurance companies as much as possible and at the same time significantly increases the transparency of data processing.

In addition, the AXA Group has introduced a mandatory corporate policy (so-called Binding Corporate Rules) on a global level approved by European supervisory authorities, which forms the basis of data processing in the Group and, in particular, of data transfers within the AXA Group worldwide.
As a result, a consistently high level of data protection is also legally guaranteed for data processing by AXA companies based outside the EU. Here you can find more information:
